Who Me? A Negotiator?

I remember onceĀ  my boss sent me to a class on negotiationĀ  I thought, “Okay, awesome, I get to go to a class for a couple of days and it counts towards my professional development.”

But I really didn’t understand why I was going into negotiation class because I didn’t work in procurement I didn’t buy things.Ā  I was being narrow minded Because we do negotiate when we’ve got a schedule.Ā  If your sponsor gives you a schedule and you’re lthinking, “You are crazy that can’t be done!” You begin to negotiate.

If you’ve got team members who are over allocated and you’re sharing them with others, you negotiate . During the hiring process you negotiate.Ā  When you

buy things, materials, things, or even in solving problems, you negotiate.
