Dear Colleagues, I’d like to encourage everyone to actively participate in social sharing within our team, always being mindful of the content we share. As we are all aware, we’re living in sensitive times, hence the need to ensure our shared content is appropriate and in good taste. In this light, I suggest we stick to sharing light-hearted content such as cat or dog videos. Let’s not forget our fish and bird owners; they too would appreciate content related to their pets. The underlying point here is to share office-friendly content that will brighten up everyone’s day.
If any of you have a knack for creating memes, feel free to express your creativity. I must admit, my talents lie more in the realm of cutting and pasting, but that’s the beauty of a diverse team like ours – we each bring unique skills to the table.
Perhaps we can turn this into a contest, where team members can compete to come up with the most engaging content. This reminds me of a time in the past when I was physically present with a team, and we were about to start a new project. I organized a contest for designing the project logo, as I had some team members who were not only project managers but also had a flair for graphic design. The takeaway here is that the sky’s the limit when it comes to creativity.
Ultimately, what we’re aiming for is to recreate the same feeling and connection we would have if we were all physically present in the same office. Imagine being able to walk over to a colleague’s desk to chat or ask if they’d like a cup of coffee. Thankfully, we can still share a virtual coffee over Zoom or any other platform we use.
On that note, I’d like to share that every Friday morning at 8 a.m., I have a virtual coffee with two colleagues I work with. One of them has retired, but we still keep in touch. We’ve been doing this for years, and it’s a wonderful way to catch up and maintain our connection. I’d encourage you all to do the same.
