Finding a Job in Project Management From Anywhere In The World

Thanks a lot for your comment Josh.

I would like to go back to the US because my family still live in Atlanta. I would like to apply for positions in the US but I am afraid that because I am in a foreign country, my chances would be very small. On the other side I have a 3 months notice here and in the US it’s normally 2 weeks.

Do you think I should keep trying? I think it’s a good thing to have work experience outside the US. And then I am fluent in French, English and German.

I would like to find some project to manage as a freelancer. I was thinking of specialising in companies working with foreign companies to use my language skills.

Do you have any tip which could help me?

Do I need to move back in Atlanta before looking for a job?

I know I have a lot of questions. Sorry if they are too many.

I’m so glad you reached out to give me an update. I love it when people follow through and let me know how things turned out for them.

My suggestion is to target organizations and build relationships. You can do that online and via phone from where you are now. And I think you can find a place and people where you can give your 3 months notice when the time is right and know you have work in the US waiting for you.

Target organizations who fit your ideal company, perhaps those who do project work for foreign companies (or foreign companies who do project work in the US?) -It’s the relationships you forge and maintain with people in these organizations that counts and will help you reach your goals. Remember to not ask about jobs, instead build relationships. You’ll see what I mean in the articles and training referenced below. You’ll see that LinkedIn is a key part of what I teach.

Here are some articles I’ve written on these topics:

And my online career training goes through the specifics and demonstrations in detail.

I hope that helps!
