Theory of Constraints – 4 minute video on What to Change

by Josh

“Just ask anybody in the organization what to change, and you will find out to what extent people are real experts at bitching and moaning…”

It wasn’t me, it was Goldratt who said it!  Wow, I hope I don’t lose my G-rating on this website.

This is just a short video clip of Goldratt explaining the interconnected components of an organization and how they work together when trying to solve a problem for increasing performance.  He also discusses the need for focusing mechanisms instead of relying on intuition of individuals, even managers who oversee the entire system, because no one can know enough about the entire chain.

I’ll try.

You may want to check out my interview on the PM Podcast.

I’d suggest you subscribe to The Project Management Podcast and PM411.org in Itunes or another podcatcher, and listen to them all! Several are geared to getting started in project management, including the one interviewing me in episode 65 of the PM Podcast.

I’ve also had a lot of questions via email on this topics and many, many discussions with people around the world. I’m contemplating a book on the subject. You can always email me at joshnankivel@gmail.com with specific questions or just bounce some ideas off me.
