Project Communication – Email Accountability Check

by Josh

Time to hold my feet to the fire.

Recently I wrote a post about email communication on projects.  My focus was for co-located teams and my aversion to using email as a primary communication mechanism for this kind of project environment.

I’ve been with my new team for about 6 weeks now and decided it was time to see if I was walking the talk….

Very interesting, Josh. What struck me is that in 6 weeks, you have sent ONLY 44 emails to your team. Some people send that in a day :) So at a meta level, you are clearly walking your talk because you’re leveraging other forms of communication beyond email.

Nice post, and very cool to see someone give themself an accountability check.

Thanks Pam! It’s a daily struggle, to keep myself from sending email as a knee-jerk reaction when I should really be talking face-to-face or waiting until the next morning for our daily tag-up.

The journey continues…
