Recently I’ve come across a few different sources of Prince2 training resources I would like to share with you today.
Although Prince2 is not a prevalent certification in my area of the world, I’m interested in all the different methods and standards out there. If you are not familiar with Prince2 and want to learn more about it, check out About Prince2 or this About Prince2 Video.
These resources are free for you to download and use.
PRINCE2 Podcast
This seems to be an excellent resource. I downloaded the podcasts and listened to a few of them to see what they were like. I really like the way Frank starts a definition and then there is a pause so the listener can think of the answer before it is given.
Look down on the left hand menu and you’ll see Frank has also put together some CBT material as well. Great job Frank, I like it!
Prince2 Podcast (Another related site is http://www.prince2podcast.com and these resources may be moving there soon!)
Free Prince2 Training Resources
A reader suggested some more Prince2 resources just in the last week or so. (Thank you Laszlo!) You can download Prince2 templates and other resources here:

Hi Josh
I’ve been working in Project Management for the past 3 years and would like to formalise that experience in the form of qualifications, and here in the UK Prince2 appears the most widely recognised.
My company won’t pay for the training so I will have to fund it myself. That said my question is: do you think Prince 2 Practioner can be attained just from the official books issued by the OGC or would a classroom course in addition – as oppossed to a Boot camp – be necessary/better?
Another issue seems to be the dearth of ‘mock’ Prince2 exams available – unlike ITIL Foundation for e.g – to be able to gauge progress.
I know Prince2 is not one you’re most familiar with but any advice you can offer would be appreciated.
Regards
Morgan

Thanks for the comment Morgan.
I'm forwarding this link to Frank Turley of iplazza.eu for his insight. Check out his website too for great Prince2 resources!

Hi Morgan
If you had the chance to be a Project Manager in an enviornment where a PRINCE2 like methodology was used, then you will not need not need a classroom training, however, if not then you will need one or a practitioner CBT
Another idea is to take a project you have work on and try to create all the management documents using the PRINCE2 product descriptions (project manadate, Project Brief, Lessons, etc...)
The PRINCE2 Process Model
I will release a free ebook in the coming weeks, this gives a great overview of how a project works and shows the relationship between all the different processes. If you understand the project model and can explain this to another person, then you are half way to passing an exam
Exams
* I know of a website that will be launched in about 4 weeks
* It will have an excellent Questions (online) Module
* You will receive a score on your test and most important, it explians where you made a mistake if you made a mistake
* So send me an email in a month and I will tell you (frank.turley@mgmtplaza.com)
Hope this helps
Regards
Frank Turley
