PMI Global Congress 2008

by Josh

The PMI is forming a “New Media Council” and they have asked me to be on it.  I’m honored to have been asked, and gratefully accepted.

In this capacity, I will also be in Denver between October 17-21 for the Global Congress at the convention center.  Please email me if you’ll be in the area and would like to meet for a chat.  I’m always open to new networking opportunities, and it would be great to meet some of you who read this blog.

By the way, if you are looking for a shuttle you may want to try SuperShuttle.  I just booked shuttles to and from my hotel and it was $21 each way, much less than a taxi.

Hi Josh,
Be very cautious with PMI, especially if they ask you to sign any IP transfer agreements. Do NOT just blindly sign anything they give you. Read any agreements over and understand that PMI is known to aggressively enforce them.

Unfortunately, IMPO and first hand experience, the organization is not very benign…..

Thanks for the concern Dr. Paul. The PMI has been excellent in this process. Being a group of people who put out content in many forms, we are sensitive to the IP issue and have seen no red flags whatsoever. If there were, I would not have accepted the invitation.

My experiences with the PMI are fairly recent, so perhaps the paradigm has changed.
